Am really starting to feel that all this Jade coverage is getting too much.
I know she has courted public opinion, I understand why and I don’t disapprove of what she’s done, as I’ve already said.
But its time to leave her alone. Afford her some dignity.
The poor woman is dying. And every single day, every sorry twist and turn in this tragic tale is splashed all over the front pages. Poor, stricken Jade is photographed sucking her pain relief ‘lolly’ and being helped in and out of amublances.
This is no way to treat anyone, even if they have invited the media into every aspect of their rollercoaster life.
Max Clifford did a very honest and frank interview about it on Radio 4 yesterday. He said that in the last month, Jade has spent one day doing four interviews. ONE DAY. And presumably, the contents of those interviews are being slowly filtered out by the tabloid papers to create the impression that Jade is spending every last moment of her life talking to reporters.
This coverage takes the “slowing down to gawp at a car crash” mentality to a whole new level. And I’m sure that, when the inevitable happens and Jade does die, the real post-mortem will be the one looking into the conduct of the papers and the massive appetite of the public for such gruesome voyeurism.
